Newborns spend most of their time sleeping and it is important that they have a bed that is safe and comfortable before they transition to a full sized crib. The bassinet has taken over from the old-time cradle, but provides much of the functionality that it used to provide - albeit in a much more safe, modern and more easily transportable fashion. These days, parents are busy and often moving from place to place in the house, so a transportable bassinet is very practical. Bassinets give you the flexibility to have the baby sleep in your bedroom for those first few months without having to disrupt your bedroom layout.

Some Features to Look for in Bassinets:
Adaptability: The ability for your bassinet to convert into a portable sleeper or an in-the-bed sleeper would be important if you are going to use the bassinet for a number of different circumstances.
Soothing Options: Rocking and singing come naturally when we interact with a small baby. For times when the personal touch is not possible, features like gentle motion, soothing lights and music are something that will be valued. Modern upper-end bassinets often come with technology and apps that make this easy and convenient.
Safety: A deeper bassinet with a firm but soft mattress will ease any concerns about safety. See-through mesh panels that also allow for air transmission are also a plus.
Safety Standards: Look for these safety standard labels before purchasing a bassinet: ASTM, CPSC, and FCC regulations. If someone offers you a hand-me-down, ensure that the bassinet has all the safety tags in tact before accepting.
Easy Clean: Babies can create quite a mess for their size! Especially now, keeping your baby's bassinet clean and sanitized is very important. Look for care instructions that allow for a mild detergent clean up with a damp cloth.
Storage: Babies need a lot of "baby stuff" - the diapers, wipes and endless pieces of clothing, not to mention toys. Look for a bassinet that has a storage tray that is easily accessible for you.
Movement: If you know you will be moving the bassinet from room to room, then a bassinet with wheels that lock down will be a feature you should look for.

I really love the Sweetli bassinet. The directions are easy to follow so assembly is easy as long as you can follow them. Baby is less than 2 weeks old and is sleeping great in it. The music and mobile are a plus along with the vibration.

Purchased the Evi bassinet as a gift for my daughter and son-in-law. They are expecting their first child. They love it - couldn't believe how easy it was to put together. My son-in-law loves the wifi features. Baby hasn't arrived yet, but it looks beautiful in their bedroom. Very nice quality.

Absolutely love the Sweetli bassinet!! It’s everything I hoped it would be and more!! I love the depth of the bassinet, the lights, sounds and vibrations work really good! You get to choose from 3 classical baby songs. The baskets underneath are bigger than I thought! U can fit a ton of stuff in them! I love the color it matches my grey and white walls. The wheels lock on the bottom to ensure your baby won’t be going anywhere!! When I read the reviews people said how difficult it was to put together, it’s not anymore difficult than any other baby furniture you’re going to build! All u need is some common sense, 4 AA batteries a screwdriver/ screw gun if u have one? So don’t listen to other reviewers on how hard it is to put together cause it’s not! I give it 5 Stars!! And highly recommend this bassinet!!

The Sova bassinet fits nicely in our small apartment! I love the design aesthetic, as it was VERY important to me that the bassinet fit nicely into our room decor! Simple & functional! I had a few questions during assembly but the amazing owner (of the brand that makes the bassinet) literally directed me step by step on FaceTime. He was so nice and gracious! I’m happy I trusted my intuition and purchased this bassinet.

The Sova bassinet looks elegant and very spacious and deep. Also came with two mattress covers, which was unexpected. Love that it matches my home decor and doesn't stand out like a sore thumb. Easily movable to any room as well. Overall, I'm very happy with it.
